The World Bank classifies the country as a high-income economy. Mauritius is the only African country to be considered as “very high” on the Human Development Index. It is also ranked as one of the most competitive and developed countries in the African region. Owing to its EEZ as well, Mauritius does provide a plethora of opportunities for those who wish to take a dive.

Another 24% percent belongs to the apparel industry which also includes clothing accessories of both kinds: not knitted/crotched and knitted/crotched.

They import mineral fuels, mineral oils and its by-products; these account for 15% of their imports. Vehicles, electrical machinery and equipment, sound recorders, TV image recorders and their accessories constitute of roughly another 21% of their imports.
