ABOUT United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates, commonly known as UAE is located in Western Asia and at the eastern end of the Persian Gulf. It shares its land borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia and maritime borders in the Persian Gulf with Qatar and Iran. It is an elective monarchy formed from a federation of 7 Emirates; Abu Dhabi where the capital Abu Dhabi is located, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al Quwain. In 2013, the UAE's population was 9.2 million, of which 1.4 million were Emirati citizens and 7.8 million were expatriates; the estimated population in 2020 was 9.89 million. Business Opportunities in United Arab Emirates

The UAEs oil and natural gas reserves are the sixth and seventh largest in the world, respectively. Amongst the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the UAE has the most diverse economy. Its most populous city, Dubai is a global city and an international hub. Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, ruler of Abu Dhabi and the countrys first president, oversaw the development of the Emirates by investing oil revenues into healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

51% (173 billion US$): Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes 13.4% (45 billion US$): Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones, precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin 8.42% (28 billion US$): Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles. UAEs top exports are mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distilled products which account for 51% of their exports. Pearls, precious stones, precious metals, imitation jewelry make up the next 13% of their exports. Electrical machinery and equipment, sound recorders, TV image and sound recorders and accessories of such articles make up another 8% of their exports.

31% ($105 billion): Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude. 14.1% ($47 billion): Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, other than crude; preparations not elsewhere specified or included, containing by weight 70 % or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the preparations; waste oils. 8.74% ($29 billion): Gold (including gold plated with platinum) unwrought or in semi-manufactured forms, or in powder form. 6.11% ($20 billion): Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons. 5.99% ($20 billion): Transmission apparatus for radio-telephony, radio-telegraphy, radio-broadcasting or television, whether or not incorporating reception apparatus or sound recording or reproducing apparatus; television cameras; still image video cameras and other video camera recorders; digital cameras. UAE major import which makes up 31% of its imports is petroleum oils and crude. Another 14.1% is taken up by petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, other than crude; preparations not elsewhere specified or included, containing by weight 70 % or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the preparations; waste oils. Almost 6% of UAEs imports also include apparatus for radio-telephony, radio-telegraphy, radio broadcasting or TV, TV cameras, digital cameras.
